In the world of lighting, it is a fixture that you may find in a warehouse, a factory, a gym, an airport hangar or any large open area industrial and commercial space with relatively high ceilings. Drive by any industrial park, warehouse, or factory, and walk inside and what you will see is a high bay light.
LED high bay lights are warehouse fixtures designed to use LEDs are their light source. The primary advantages of LEDs are their low energy usage and long life.
HID stands for high intensity discharge lighting. This usually refers to metal halide or high pressure sodium bulbs commonly found in street lights and warehouses. They use a lot of energy and have a short life time. These lights are characterized by their wattage ranging from 70W to 1000W.
LED lighting does give off some heat, but not nearly as much as HID bulbs. While LED warehouse fixtures will feel a bit hot to the touch they will not heat up your space and many of customers switch to LED high bay lighting in order to reduce heat in their work environment.
Coverage area depends on the brightness and the mounting height. The higher the light is hung the more coverage. Every space is different but a general rule of thumb is the coverage is about twice the mounting height with our wide lenses. Knowing a light’s coverage area when mounted at a certain height will let you know how many lights you need for your space.
We offer a 10 year warranty on all lights sold. During the warranty time, if the lighting fixture is used under correct situation we will at our discretion offer either replacement parts, a replacement fixture or a refund on the item itself. We even cover shipping costs but we do NOT cover labor.
Customers are welcome to return our high bay lights for any reason but are responsible for all return shipping costs and ensuring lights are received back in good condition within 14 business days of receiving the shipment. We recommend buying a couple to test to minimize the hassle of a return. Please contact us prior to returning any merchandise.
How much you can save depends on 4 things.
- The wattage of your current vs proposed energy saving warehouse fixtures.
- How many hours a day your lights are lit (turned on) for.
- The cost of electricity in your region.
- The ongoing maintenance/bulb costs you are currently spending to maintain your existing warehouse lights.
As a rough estimate someone switching from a 400W fixture to our 160W LED high bay can expect to save a minimum of $105 annually per fixture based on only 12 hours of daily use and an electricity rate of 10 cents a KW hour. That is a return on investment of just 1 year!
